Expert Tip

Most plants grow best when ambient CO2 levels are boosted to 1200 - 1500 ppm, but only under high PPFD light and rich water/fertilizer cycles.

Calculation Methodology & Details

๐Ÿ“

Formula

Volume CO2 Needed = Volume × (Target ppm - Current ppm) / 1,000,000 Injection Time (minutes) = (Volume CO2 Needed / Flow Rate) × 60

The calculator estimates how much pure CO2 must be added to a sealed grow room volume to achieve target levels. 1 ppm is one-millionth of the total room volume.

How to Calibrate Grow Room CO2

Follow these steps to schedule CO2 enrichment injections:

1

Calculate Room Volume

Multiply length by width by height to get total room size.

2

Define Target Levels

Set current (usually 400 ppm) and target values (usually 1200 - 1500 ppm).

3

Check Regulator flow

Identify the flow rate of your gas regulator valve (CFH or LPH).
