How to Determine Compost Requirements
Follow these steps to compute how much compost is needed:
Measure Bed Area
Measure the length and width of the bed to be fertilized.
Select Depth
Determine depth (usually 1-2 inches for top-dressing, 3-4 inches for new beds).
Choose Unit
Convert the cubic volume into bags or bulk cubic yards.
